Artist Spotlight: Louise Kendra Lohmann

Parental Advisory: Explicit Content

Who are you and what do you do?

I am a multi-artist from Denmark who is residing in the US. I sing, write songs, poetry, plays. I act, I produce shows, I do improv and stand up, I dance, and I also do artsy installations and rituals. I also teach and offer coaching.

Why does it matter?

Because we live. Life is a mystical experience of Matter and anti-Matter. It matters, and it doesn’t matter. I think our sole purposes in life is to connect to others and develop skills to better process the insanity of life. Art in all its shapes can do this; create dialogue, ask questions, make you laugh at yourself and your own self-importance, provoke you or scare you. It is a tool for transformation. Both for the artist and the audience/participants. I am creating because I must. The Matter must be expressed through the flesh. Does it matter? To me it does. And perhaps to someone else. Then the bridge is built and we (fragments of the universe) are once again uniting in the physical realm through creation.

When did you realize performing was what you wanted to do?

I was always a performer. In some ways, the universe was performing through me – I didn’t really have a choice.

Do you remember what it was like in the beginning?

Before the darkness – there was light. Now we dance under the rainbow.

What is your dream performance?

Ask my dream therapist. 🙂 I am here to collaborate with the world. If I can sing, dance and make you laugh and cry – then I fit in the puzzle.

Which living person do you most admire?

I admire the everyday person who transform their life though faced with the darkness – and find strength to stand up for love of life.

Which living person do you most despise?

The people who refuse to look at their own shit and keep blaming everyone else for the fires of the world.

What is the quality you most like in a person (man or woman)?

The ability to be kind as well as fierce – when needed.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Facing the shadows of the soul and turning it into art/song/play.

What is your favorite word?

What is your least favorite word?

What turns you on creatively, spiritually, or emotionally?

Truth. Truth of the moment or truth of the personal experience in the moment.

What turns you off?

Self-importance and arrogance.

What is your favorite curse word?

Fuck – You can use it for everything 🙂

What sound or noise do you love?

Birds chirping, thunder rolling, water running, song from the heart, sighs of pleasure.

What sound or noise do you hate?

Not a fan death metal or bad euro trash dance music.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

World explorer

What profession would you not like to do?

Don’t ask me to program stuff.

If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

Sorry – I got carried away. But I got snacks. We good?
